MainosMemos contains the latest research and information about eye and vision care of children, developmental disabilities, Traumatic/Acquired Brain Injury and other topics of interest to me (and hopefully you!).
My son was diagnosed with Amblyopia at the age of 13 months old (hes 29 months now), I was told it was due to a deformed Optic Nerve. It has gone from -9.50 to -19.00 in a little over a yr. Is there ANYTHING besides glasses available to help either slow this down or correct it? I dont see an end in sight (no pun intended). Being a mother I of course am concerned about things like Optic Nerve Hypoplasia even though this hasnt been a diagnoses. I'm just trying to seek out anything I can to his condition and bc his is "unique" in the fact apparently surgery wont help bc its an optic nerve deformity. I'm frustrated and have spent over $1000 in changing his lenses out in the course of a year. Thank you!
